Pre-Primary
Earth Day
To celebrate Earth Day, our incredible Pre-Primary students stepped into an engaging, hands-on inquiry where mathematics, sensory exploration, and care for the planet came together through natural and recycled materials. Using recycled lids, pinecones, sticks, corks, egg cartons, and wooden pieces, the environment invited curiosity, choice, and meaningful participation for every child.
As students explored counting by matching quantities to numerals with concrete objects, they strengthened one-to-one correspondence and number recognition. The learning included actively thinking, communicating, socialising and self-management skills in authentic, playful ways.
Investigating textures students used magnifying glasses to observe details closely, sparking wonder, rich conversations, and early scientific thinking. Their questions, observations, and shared discoveries reflected true inquiry in action.
This experience deepened students’ understanding of reuse and recycling while nurturing a growing sense of responsibility, empathy, and care for the Earth. Through collaborative exploration, the children developed awareness of how their small actions can positively impact the world around them, living the attributes of CARING FOR THE EARTH.
Rock, Shock & Wow
Our Grade 0000's had so much fun during our Rock, Shock & Wow activities.
They explored sensory trays and enjoyed painting while learning about different habitats. The children were so excited and curious as they discovered new textures and ideas.
This term, our Unit of Exploration is Sharing the Planet and today’s activities helped the children begin to understand how we all live together and care for our world.
It was a day full of creativity, discovery, and excitement.

College
Matric Dance 2026
What an unforgettable evening at our Matric dance at the end of Term 1. Our matric students truly brought the glamour, elegance, and style as they celebrated one of the most special milestones of their school journey.
From breathtaking outfits to beaming smiles and magical moments shared with friends, the night was nothing short of spectacular. It was a celebration of memories made, friendships cherished, and the exciting future that lies ahead.
We are incredibly proud of our matriculants and a special thank you goes to Ms Deepchand, Mr Mncwabe, and Ms Rabe for their exceptional effort in organising such a memorable and social evening, as well as to the staff who joined and fully embraced the celebration. Thank you, CCL, for a night filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable energy.
Saints Easter Sport Festival
Our Senior Soccer Boys proudly represented CCL at the Saints Easter Sport Festival, held over three days at the beginning of April. Competing against some of the strongest soccer schools, the team displayed determination, resilience, and outstanding school spirit across all five matches.
They opened the festival with a hard-fought 2–2 draw against Thandulwazi Academy, before taking on tough fixtures against St Benedict’s, St Stithians, Jeppe, and KES.
Throughout the tournament, the boys remained committed, gave their all on the field, and represented the school with pride. We are very proud of these young men.
CSI
On Saturday, 18 April, Crawford Lonehill College had the privilege of visiting a Cherith Projects church in Diepsloot. Our visit focused on learning about eco‑bricks and how they are used in the building of walls and garden separators to support sustainable community development. Through this experience, we also celebrated Earth Day (22 April) by reusing and recycling plastic bottles to create eco‑bricks, reinforcing the importance of caring for our planet through practical action.
As we worked together creating eco‑bricks, a church service was taking place, and we were able to hear beautiful singing while we worked. This created a calm, uplifting atmosphere and added a sense of warmth and connection to the experience, highlighting the strong spirit of the Diepsloot community.
We especially enjoyed learning how eco‑bricks are already being used within the Cherith Projects space. Seeing these simple yet powerful ideas brought to life was truly inspiring and showed us how small actions can lead to meaningful, long‑term change.
We also learned about the care centre currently being built by Cherith Projects, which will support young, school going children, through lessons with Kensani, and adults involved in education programmes. This visit left us feeling inspired, grateful, and hopeful as we witnessed sustainability, education, compassion, and community working hand in hand.
