WESSA Excellence
We are bursting with pride following the WESSA KZN 100th Year Awards Ceremony at the beautiful Willow Way Manor.
We as Crawford International La Lucia felt honoured to showcase our environmental initiatives after achieving an incredible 98% score for our WESSA projects in 2025. It was a morning filled with inspiration, networking with experts and celebrating a century of WESSA’s dedication to our planet.
A massive congratulations to our young ambassadors who took to the stage and spoke with confidence, fluency, and heart, proving that our youth are truly leading the way toward a sustainable future:
- Vihara Naiker (2025 WESSA Preparatory Captain - Grade 8)
- Mitali Lutchminarain (2025 WESSA Preparatory Captain - Grade 8)
- Anya Govender (Grade 4)
Well done to our Crawford International La Lucia students in reaching our Silver milestone.
Pre-Primary
Darren Maule Ultimate Blazer
Crawford International La Lucia is officially part of the Darren Maule #ultimateblazer.
The Darren Maule Ultimate Blazer is a challenge where comedian and radio host Darren Maule visits schools to fill his blazer with badges, scrolls, and accomplishments. This initiative aims to recognise and celebrate the achievements of students, fostering a sense of pride and recognition among the students.
A few of our Grade 0 students proudly handed over our coveted Principals Award badge to Darren and we are so honoured to be part of his school pin collection.
Easter Bunny Visit
There was great excitement at Crawford International La Lucia Pre-Primary as the Easter Bunny paid a special visit just before the holidays. The students were delighted by the surprise and enjoyed a morning filled with smiles, laughter, and festive fun.
It was a joyful way to celebrate the season together and end the term on a happy note.

Wacky Wig Day Fundraiser Success
A heartfelt thank you to our Crawford International La Lucia Preparatory students and parents for the incredible support shown at our recent “Wacky Wig Day” fundraiser.
The creativity, enthusiasm and generosity on display truly reflected the spirit of our school community. Together, we raised over R16 000 in support of the meaningful work of The Domino Foundation.
We are especially proud of our Grade 5 students, who, inspired by their ‘Sharing the Planet’ PYP unit, took the lead in selecting the NPO, planning, and promoting this initiative. Their leadership and compassion made a real impact.
Thank you for helping us create our very own #thedominoeffect - proving that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
