Our Bee Class, Grade 00 explored nature as they collected sticks, leaves and natural treasures to build their very own bird nests. Back in the classroom, they used feathers, wool and cotton to create warm and cosy homes for their feathered friends.

Teacher Spotlight: Mrs Michelle dos Santos-Little
After ten years as a copywriter in advertising, Mrs Michelle dos Santos-Little realised she was looking for something more fulfilling. Her love of children, reading, writing and the English language eventually led her to teaching, a career that brings all these passions together.
Michelle began at Crawford International Fourways as a student teacher before joining the mentorship programme after completing her Bachelor of Education degree. Since then, she has taught across Grades 1, 5, 6 and 7, continuing to grow alongside the campus community.
In her classroom, Michelle encourages lateral thinking and believes learning should be relevant, engaging and fun. More importantly, she wants students to feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and be themselves.
A recent highlight was seeing her Grade 7 students take part in a public speaking competition, presenting ideas ranging from the whimsical world of Sock Island to discussions on women's rights in Afghanistan. Watching them think critically and confidently express their perspectives was a particularly proud moment.
For Michelle, some of the most rewarding moments happen when a student's eyes light up as something clicks. She also treasures visits from former students, a reminder that the relationships built at school can last long after they leave.
Every day, her students greet her with the affirmation: “You are smart, kind and important.” It is a message she hopes stays with them beyond the classroom.
