Gymnastics
Our gymnastics intra-mural programme is designed to develop specialised motor skills through fun, engaging movement activities. Using a wide range of more than 24 apparatus, including parallel bars, horizontal bars, beams, springboards and more, children participate in whole-body exercises that build strength, flexibility and coordination.
Classes are structured yet adaptable, creating a safe and enjoyable space where children can channel their energy productively. Students develop fundamental gymnastics skills such as forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands and beam balancing, while also improving overall fitness through activities like running, jumping on springboards, sit-ups, splits and pull-ups.
The F.U.N element is at the core of our gymnastics lesson plans, ensuring kids have an amazing time while developing essential skills. Our program offers incredible benefits for toddlers and kids, including:
Developing cognitive functions.
Strengthening bones.
Improving coordination.
Promoting discipline and self-control.
Enhancing flexibility and posture.
Boosting self-confidence and self-esteem.
Encouraging a healthy lifestyle
This programme is fully integrated into the daily timetable and are included in the school fees.
Friendship Day
Last week we celebrated Friendship Day at our preschool, focusing on kindness, sharing, and caring for one another. Through group activities, stories and creative crafts, the children explored what it means to be a good friend. It was heartwarming to see them practice using kind words, helping hands, and big smiles.
Friendship Day reminded us of all that strong, positive relationships help our little students grow with confidence.
Chinese New Year Celebration
This week our students prepared to celebrate Chinese New Year as part of our commitment to embracing and learning about the many cultures represented in our community. The children explored traditional customs through art, music, storytelling, and creative play.
They learned about the significance of red decorations, the zodiac animals, and the importance of family and new beginnings. Celebrating together helps our children develop respect, curiosity, and appreciation for cultures around the world, strengthening the inclusive spirit of our school.

Grade 3C Assembly – Celebrating Love, Culture and Achievement
Grade 3C recently presented a heartfelt assembly all about love, reminding us that kindness, empathy and caring for others help make our school community strong.
During the assembly, Mrs Brayshaw spoke to the children about Ramadan, a special time for many Muslim families focused on fasting, reflection, prayer and generosity. We also learned about Chinese New Year and that this is the Year of the Horse, symbolising energy, strength and perseverance. Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent, a special 40- day season. During this time families reflect and prepare for the Easter celebration.
We also celebrated some wonderful achievements across the Foundation Phase. Congratulations to Folakemi, Aletta and Kenzo who received the Kind & Brave Spot Award for showing kindness and courage in their daily actions.
Well, done to Malakai Govender on receiving his Trinity piano exam certificate from Trinity College London, and a special shout out to Ashton Lu for his excellent chess results, Ashton received a medal and a very cool trophy.
We are incredibly proud of our learners for the way they continue to show love, respect and dedication both in and out of the classroom.
Friendship Day
Friendship Day began on Thursday with a special collaborative activity, where senior grades partnered with junior grades to design friendship rings together. These rings were then linked and displayed around the school, building a sense of anticipation ahead of Friday’s celebrations.
On Friday morning, many students arrived dressed in pink, red and white, creating a joyful atmosphere across the campus. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and school spirit on display.
Unfortunately, due to lightning warning conditions, we were unable to hand out our heart chocolates to parents and guardians as planned. Nonetheless, the day remained a meaningful celebration of connection, kindness and a caring community.
Celebrating Ryan Bark
Ryan Bark has been selected for the U11 team at Mamelodi Sundowns where he has been trialling since October 2025. His determination and hard work have played off.

Grand Opening of our High Performance Sports Centre
On Wednesday, 11 February, Ms Purkiss, together with the Legend Bryan Habana, one of rugby's most celebrated wingers, inaugurated the state-of-the-art high-performance sports centre.
Mr Habana passionately articulated his belief that exercise is not merely a temporary endeavour but a lifelong dedication to health, longevity, and optimal performance. He urged that fitness should be embraced as a "way of life," integrating rigorous physical training with intelligent recovery strategies and a commitment to long-term wellness. This philosophy resonates seamlessly with the objectives of the new performance centre.
The centre has a sleek, minimalist design. The facility stands to benefit students by promoting physical health, enhancing academic performance through improved focus, and nurturing mental well-being. It offers a secure environment for cultivating vital life skills such as discipline and resilience. There will also be a biokineticist to provide students with guidance on correct training methods and to assist with sports injuries. We are all inspired to embrace a more active lifestyle, alleviate stress through exercise, and strengthen our social connections with our peers.
