Bedtime Tales Evening
Our little students were transported to magical lands and whimsical worlds during our Bedtime Tales evening. Dressed in their favourite pyjamas and clutching their beloved teddies, the students gathered for a night where stories came to life. To make the evening even more memorable, the children snuggled up with a warm cup of hot chocolate, munched on buttery popcorn, and enjoyed a sweet mini doughnut the perfect treats for a cozy night of tales and fun. Events like this nurture a deep love for literacy and encourage imagination to flourish. Through listening and visualising, the students learned language skills, empathy and creativity, all while feeling the warmth of community and connection.
100 Days of School
The laughter was louder, the canes were wobblier, and the wrinkles were much more adorable than usual as our students marked a special milestone - the 100th day of school.
To celebrate, students participated in a beloved tradition, dressing up as if they were 100 years old. The playground was filled with mini grandparents complete with grey wigs, glasses, walking sticks, and even walkers.
The 100th day is more than just a fun dress-up opportunity, it is a meaningful way to celebrate perseverance, learning, and growth. Since the first day of school, students have been counting each day together, learning valuable maths skills along the way. This milestone gives them a tangible sense of progress and pride in all they’ve accomplished so far.
Mandela Day
In honour of Mandela Day, our students acted by packing Jars of Hope, each filled with lentils, rice, and soup mix, to help feed families in need. This meaningful activity taught children about kindness, community, and making a difference. The jars were donated to One Small Act of Kindness on 18 July, aligning with the spirit of giving that Mandela Day
Christmas in July
Today was a magical day as the children arrived at school dressed in festive cheer to celebrate Christmas in July! From sparkly headbands to cozy scarves and Santa hats, the spirit of giving was truly alive.
A heartfelt thank you to all our families for the generous donations. These thoughtful gifts will be donated to St. Jane de Chantal to bring joy to those in need this winter season.
Your kindness and support made the day extra special.

Inter-House Athletics Day
On Friday, 1 August, we enjoyed another successful Inter- House Athletics meeting. Our athletes used all their training to put on a brilliant display. Their determination to earn points for their house created a very close contest and, in the end, over 600 points were awarded, and the three houses were only separated by 22 points. Congratulations to Barrett for earning the most points!
Without the support of the spectators, parents, coaches and teachers, the day would never be a success. The colour and energy brought to the field was incredible and encouraging to our athletes.
Thank you to Ms Rebecca Ringrose and everyone who worked towards making the day such a success
Grade 5 Explore Earth’s Spheres
Our Grade 5 students have been hard at work investigating the fascinating systems that make up our planet. As part of their inquiry into Earth’s natural spheres, they have studied the Geosphere, Atmosphere, Hydrosphere, and Biosphere. Bringing their learning to life, the students have been building creative and detailed models to represent each sphere. This hands-on approach has sparked lively discussion, deepened understanding, and inspired curiosity about the intricate ways these spheres connect to sustain life on Earth.

Celebrating Women's Strength and Community Spirit at Tshepang Care Centre
On 10 August, in honour of South African Women’s Day, our College was proud to be part of an unforgettable event at the Tshepang Care Centre. The day was dedicated to celebrating the strength, resilience, and grace of the women in our community, particularly the elderly women who continue to inspire us all.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Global Federation of Chinese Women – South Africa Chapter and the Tzu Chi Foundation for their incredible generosity. Their donations of food, stationery, a sewing machine, cooking items, and much more truly brought joy and comfort to the care centre.
A special shoutout also goes to the Interact Club of our school, who lovingly prepared sandwiches for the event. And a big thank you to Cherry, who treated everyone to delicious banyan bread for dessert, it was a sweet ending to a beautiful day.
One of the highlights of the event was an uplifting exercise session for the elderly women, focused on movement, mobility, and connection. Guided by the inspiring slogan “Long walk to freedom, long walk to health,” this activity brought laughter, energy, and a sense of empowerment to all who participated.
It was inspiring to see the smiles on the faces of the women, and to witness the warmth and respect shown by our well-mannered students throughout the day. Their kindness and willingness to serve made a lasting impression and reminded us all of the power of empathy and youth leadership.
We would also like to thank Ms Tredoux for joining us on this special day; your support and presence meant a great deal to everyone. A big thank you as well to the College for allowing us to use the school bus on a Sunday, and to the driver who kindly gave up his time to transport us safely to and from the event.
We are so proud of the students who volunteered their time and hearts to join us, your presence made a meaningful impact, and we are sure the memories made will stay with you for a lifetime. It was truly touching to witness the smiles, hugs, and joy that filled the care centre. This was more than just an event, it was a reminder of the power of kindness and community.
To all students and families in our College: you are warmly invited to join us in future outreach events. It is moments like these that remind us how even the smallest gestures can turn a sad day into a happy one.
Let’s continue walking together towards freedom, health, and hope.
