Grade 0 – Hitting the Ground Running!
Our Grade 0 students have certainly hit the ground running this Term! As they prepare for the exciting step into Grade 1, they have been working hard and showing just how much they have grown throughout the year. In class, our students have been busy strengthening their number skills through quick mental maths activities, practicing number recognition, counting, and tackling increasingly challenging sums and problems.
They have also been developing their addition and subtraction skills through practical activities and fun challenges, helping to build a stronger understanding of numbers and mathematical concepts. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they solve sums mentally and explain the strategies they used to find their answers.
Our students have also been working hard across all areas of their learning, becoming more independent and taking greater pride in their work. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, determination and eagerness to learn. We are so proud of the effort they are putting into their learning as they prepare for the exciting adventure that awaits them in Grade 1!
A World of Wonder: How we express ourselves through stories
This term, our Kindy and Grade 0000 students have embarked on an exciting journey of imagination, creativity and discovery through our Unit of Inquiry, “How We Express Ourselves" The adventure began with a special Rock and Shock experience, as the student entered their classrooms to discover magical story inspired environments. Each classroom was transformed into a world of its own, bringing wonderful stories to life and inviting the students to explore, imagine and become part of the storytelling experience.
Through these enchanting environments, the children discovered that stories can be shared in many ways. They are learning to express themselves through sounds, movement, music, words, actions and imaginative play. From bringing characters to life to recreating familiar story moments, every experience offers an opportunity for the children to communicate their ideas, explore their feelings and develop their creativity.
At this age, storytelling is so much more than reading a book. It is about discovering new ways to communicate, listening to one another, expressing emotions and making meaningful connections with the world around us. Every story opens a door to a new adventure, and every child has a story to tell! Through play, exploration and imagination, our little learners are discovering the magic of stories and the many wonderful ways they can express themselves.
