PRE PRIMARY
Love Beyond Valentine’s Day
Just because Valentine’s Day has passed it does not mean spreading love has to stop. February is a time to celebrate love in all its forms. Friendship kindness and the little moments that make life special. Our Pre-Primary children embraced the spirit of the season as they dressed up picnicked and played; pure joy all around.
Pre-Primary Breakfast
There is something special about starting the day with a warm hearty breakfast among friends. Whether it is a cosy bowl of porridge topped with colourful sprinkles, or the joyful hum of morning chatter breakfast time is always a moment of connection laughter and delight. Mornings shine a little brighter when shared with friends and a sprinkle of fun.
Gala Splash
On Friday 14 February the air was not just filled with love; it was alive with the energy of determined and enthusiastic swimmers. In our first gala of the year our young athletes displayed remarkable progress setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
A huge thank you to Coach Wayne Davis-Hannibal and the dedicated Quest Swimming coaching team for their unwavering support and keen focus on further developing our swimmers' potential.
Valentine’s Day
We also spent out day of love playing outside, having social picnic's and games, and dressing up in pink, white and red! We exchanged love and friendship letters and gifts and spread the love all ‘round!
COLLEGE
The Speech and Drama College Competition
On Wednesday, 19 February, our Grade 9 Open Team took the stage at Charter College to open The Speech and Drama College Public Speaking Competition. With courage and conviction they captivated an audience of 35 as they explored the theme "A Moment in Time" honouring influential women from the suffrage movement.
Gabriella Rutledge Megan Botros Deborah Oladokun and Mihle Mhlongo delivered eloquent speeches shedding light on the remarkable women who shaped history. Their passion and poise resonated deeply making for a truly inspiring evening.
The adjudicator praised their resilience leaving them with these powerful words:
"A team of competent and capable speakers. However, the nerves did creep through; you persevered which is quite admirable. They say to ‘strike a woman is to strike a rock’; let this be the rock which allows you to build your foundations as amazing speakers."
First Blood Drive a Huge Success
Our College Campus, in partnership with the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), hosted its first blood drive of the year.
Students aged 16 and older who met the 50kg weight requirement eagerly participated, demonstrating generosity and compassion. The initial goal was to collect 46 litres of blood, but thanks to the overwhelming support, we exceeded expectations with an astounding 61 litres donated. With each donation potentially saving three lives, this initiative could impact over 180 people in need.
This achievement highlights the power of unity and giving back. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged, and supported this cause. We look forward to the next blood drive and hope to make an even greater impact.
