The CIP Library a space for discovery
At Crawford International Pretoria, curiosity and inquiry are at the heart of learning, and the library brings this to life. The Information Station is a welcoming space where exploration knows no bounds, and students have access to a world of knowledge across subjects and interests.
From Grade 2, students are introduced to the Dewey Decimal System, giving them the skills to locate and navigate information independently. Their enthusiasm is clear as they eagerly explore resources aligned with their transdisciplinary themes.
Reflecting the school’s rich culture, our growing Mother Tongue section offers books in nine languages, helping every child find a piece of home on our shelves.
Beyond books, the library serves as a social space where students play chess, share card games or simply enjoy quiet reading during breaks.
We champion the joy of reading through regular reading challenges, buddy reading, author visits and surprise guest readers, making reading an integral and enjoyable part of school life.
Every day is Earth Day at Crawford International Pretoria
As a proud WESSA Eco School, we embrace Earth Day as more than a calendar event. It is a daily practice.
To mark Earth Week, our students took part in a campus-wide Book Swap, reinforcing the value of re-use and sustainability. Classrooms were filled with discussions around eco-conscious living, while our Grade 1 students created personal Earth Pledges, setting a powerful example of commitment and care.
Our students are developing the mindset of changemakers who are curious, compassionate and conscious about the world they will shape.
World Book Day celebration inspires student creativity
Crawford International Pretoria celebrated World Book Day with an evening of storytelling that brought words to life across multiple art forms.
Under the guidance of librarian Mrs Rae Coetzer, students reimagined stories through art, dance, drama, music and educational films. The result was a heartfelt celebration of imagination, self-expression and student voice.
Every performance reminded us that stories connect us, challenge us and help us grow. As Maya Angelou once said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
