Welcome to

Crawford International Lonehill Pre-Primary

Crawford International Lonehill Pre-Primary is located on a thoughtfully designed campus in the heart of Lonehill. The environment is welcoming and purposeful, encouraging independence, confidence and self-expression.

Learning is shaped through meaningful play and guided exploration, allowing students to build a strong foundation for future learning.

Students are supported in developing the skills and mindset needed to progress with confidence as they move into formal schooling.

Our teaching is guided by a future-focused academic approach that supports strong standards from the early years. Learning encourages communication, collaboration and critical thinking, with clear opportunities for student voice, choice and ownership.

Through this approach, students develop perseverance, adaptability and reflective habits of mind. Our Pre-Primary forms part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework for children aged 18 months to 12 years.

Future-focused Skills

Emphasis is placed on gross and fine motor, perceptual, cognitive, language and numeracy development. Through thinking routines, we teach our students to question and form opinions, which are expressed through:

  • Discussion and reflection
  • Voice, choice and ownership of learning
  • Drawing
  • Painting and creating
  • Role play and dramatisation

A school readiness assessment is done on all our Grade 0 students with the additional optional support of hearing and eye tests conducted during the Grade 0 or Grade 00 school year.

Personalised Learning + Inquiry-Based Learning + Meaningful Play

Our holistic approach to education encourages our students to become fully rounded, unique individuals through a personalised learning journey.

  • Physical

Challenging outdoor experiences to enhance large muscle development, which is vital for future learning.

  • Social & Emotional

Our dedicated staff create a safe, nurturing environment where each student can develop confidence and social skills.

  • Intellectual

We follow the ISASA early development curriculum guidelines and extend beyond the national curriculum. Our students explore the three learning areas of Mathematics, Literacy and Life Skills through our concept-driven units of inquiry. Units of learning and the related conversations encourage our students to evolve as inquirers, both within and beyond the classroom.

  • Creative

We celebrate the arts through dance, drama, art, and music and consider them instrumental in building self-esteem and allowing students to express themselves.

We tap into our students’ unique abilities and talents, relying on their natural sense of curiosity and provoking their thinking through meaningful play opportunities and inquiry-based learning. Our students are encouraged to explore, discover, and experiment.
