College
45 of our Grade 8 Design students enjoyed an inspiring two-and-a-half-hour creativity workshop, presented by Mandy Paynter from the Red & Yellow Creative School of Business based in Cape Town.
Working in groups of five, students were challenged to imagine and develop fantastical stories before bringing their ideas to life through the collaborative creation of a zine. Each group then presented its unique story and visual narrative to the rest of the class, showcasing impressive creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.
The workshop developed a range of valuable skills, including creative thinking, visual storytelling, collaboration, and presentation techniques. Most importantly, it provided students with a safe and supportive space in which to explore their ideas freely and embrace uninhibited creative fluency. It was a truly enriching experience that encouraged imagination, confidence, and innovative thinking.
Cherize at the Pretoria Youth Theatre
We are delighted to celebrate the selection of Grade 9 student Cherize Pobe for her role in The Frog Princess at the Pretoria Youth Theatre. This outstanding accomplishment reflects not only artistic talent, but also the courage, commitment, and perseverance that define excellence in the performing arts.
Congratulations to Cherize on this remarkable achievement. We look forward to following her journey and cheering you on from the audience.
"Being part of the Pretoria Youth Theatre’s production of The Frog Princess has been such an exciting and unforgettable journey,“ she said.
Every rehearsal is filled with creativity, teamwork, and plenty of laughter as we work together to bring this beautiful story to life. From the choreography and harmonies to the breathtaking costumes and beautifully crafted backdrops, this experience has been truly wonderful.
The highlight of this production is definitely the people. I am so grateful to be surrounded by talented castmates and such hardworking directors. The bond we share as a cast is truly something special.
This play is more than just a show. It is an opportunity to do what I love while having fun. I cannot wait for the moment when we finally step onto the stage and share all our hard work with the lovely audience.
Travel Airscape Visit
Recently, the excitement reached a new level as Travel Airscape Group Tours visited Crawford International North Coast to officially hand over the airline tickets and Europe tour backpacks to our travellers. With just days to go before departure, there was a real sense of anticipation and excitement as 24 students, accompanied by Ms de Brito and Mr Botha, prepared for the adventure of a lifetime.
Departing on 6 July, the group embarked on an unforgettable 10-day educational journey through Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Italy. Along the way, they will experience world renowned attractions including the BMW Museum in Munich, the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle, the stunning Lake Bled, the canals of Venice, a hands-on Tuscan cooking class, the colourful villages of Cinque Terre, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the historic landmarks of Rome, including the Colosseum and St Peter's Basilica.
This tour is far more than a holiday. It is an opportunity for our students to bring their classroom learning to life, immerse themselves in different cultures, develop independence, and create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
