Welcome to

Crawford International

La Lucia College

As a leading private high school in La Lucia, we have the courage to be different. Crawford International is not a traditional school environment but offers a co-educational, progressive education that relies on the creativity of the people within the school and not on the traditions of those gone before.

We know that the adolescent years are especially formative. We empower our students through having a voice, choice, and ownership of their learning journey. Our skilled and passionate teachers mentor our students and provide guidance to ensure they become independent individuals with a firm moral compass who are prepared for the choices they need to make for their future careers.

At Crawford International La Lucia College, our underlying educational philosophy is that our students are not only taught to think, understand, and apply but to be creative, innovative and curious. Our rigorous, globally aligned academic programme sets the tone for our students to learn future-focused skills that will prepare them for life beyond school.

Academics

School Hours: 07:45 – 14:30

Crawford International High Schools prepare students for responsible adulthood and potential leadership. With a choice of more than 20 subjects for the FET Phase, students are offered the opportunity to pursue special areas of interest as part of our holistic approach to education. Students are also encouraged to participate in various extra-curricular activities.

Crawford International La Lucia College offers the widest and most flexible subject choices for students from Grade 10 – 12. The timetable allows for numerous combinations of subjects, and each student is timetabled individually, according to their subject requirements.

Grade 12 students write the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examination as their final matric examination. We measure our students’ performance against credible international standards. Students write benchmarking tests.

Students can also elect to participate in international programmes such as The Dale Carnegie’s Generation Next, The President’s Award, and Interact and Rotary Exchange programmes, TruLife, Elevate Workshops.

  • The individuality of each student is paramount. We endeavour to ensure that each student achieves his/her full potential.

Sports, Arts & Culture

Sport is an integral part of Crawford International La Lucia College. Our girls’ netball and hockey teams play in a structured league, while our swimming team is part of the co-educational league. Students have represented their sport provincially and nationally. At Crawford International La Lucia College, we accommodate students who have the ambition to become professional sportsmen or women.

In our cultural department, our students get the opportunity to experience professional performances and enjoy the competitions offered by the SA Performing Arts. The drama, dance, and music departments have produced finalists in national and international competitions such as ‘So You Think You Can Dance?’ and ‘SA’s Got Talent’.

We motivate our students to try new pursuits by offering a variety of opportunities within and beyond the classroom.
