Frequently asked Questions
What grades does Crawford International offer?
Crawford International offers Grade 0000 through to Grade 12. Pre-Primary covers Grade 0000 to Grade 0, Preparatory runs from Grade 1 to 7, and College from Grade 8 to 12.
Please note that Grade 0000 is currently only available at our Bryanston, Fourways, La Lucia, Lonehill, North Coast, Pretoria, Ruimsig and Sandton campuses.
Which curriculum does Crawford International follow?
Our Pre-Primary and Preparatory Schools follow the National Curriculum, delivered through an inquiry-based learning approach that encourages students to explore local, regional, and global perspectives across all subjects.
From Grade 8 to 12, our Colleges follow the National Senior Certificate (NSC) curriculum, with Grade 12 students writing their final examinations through the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), an accredited assessment body recognised by all South African universities and international universities.
How does the fee structure work?
Parents can choose to pay school fees annually, which attracts a discount, or in monthly instalments over 12 months. Our fees are all-inclusive, covering most sports and cultural activities.
A small number of private enrichment activities are available at an additional cost. Please contact your preferred campus for a full breakdown.
How many students are in a class?
We cap our classes at 25 students.
How many terms does Crawford have?
Crawford International follows four terms per academic year, each followed by a school holiday. Parents receive a full-term calendar at the start of each academic year.
What is a multiform?
Rather than a traditional uniform, Crawford International has a multiform. Students can choose from a range of approved school clothing options each day, allowing for freedom of expression and individuality within acceptable boundaries.
It is also a practical way for students to practise daily decision-making.
What languages are offered?
In addition to English, students can choose from Afrikaans, French, German, Hebrew, isiZulu, Italian, Portuguese, and Sepedi, depending on their campus.
Learning an additional language is something we actively encourage as part of preparing students to engage confidently in a global world.
What extra-curricular activities are available?
We offer a wide range of sports and cultural activities, most of which are included in the school fees. Students are encouraged to explore as many pursuits as possible.
Annual sports and cultural tours are also on offer, subject to demand, at an additional cost.
Does Crawford International offer boarding?
Our North Coast campus offers boarding from Grade 6, and our Southdowns campus from Grade 8, both catering for male and female students through to Grade 12.
Students have access to private and semi-private rooms, Wi-Fi, and dedicated boarder-teacher mentors who support them throughout their studies. It is a structured, yet warm environment designed to feel like a home away from home.
How do I apply, and when should I start the process?
Start your application online at the Crawford International website. Enrolments open in September each year and we encourage families to apply early, as spaces are limited.
Our admissions team is available at every campus to assist should you need support.
