Pre-Primary
Dr Seuss Day
Our Pre-Primary students celebrated the birthday of the well-known author Dr Seuss. This celebration created an opportunity for children to engage with stories in a playful and meaningful way, encouraging imagination, creativity and a love of literature.
Students were invited to come to school dressed as characters from Dr Seuss stories, and the campus was filled with colourful costumes and excitement.
Through this experience, children explored storytelling as a way to express ideas and connect with familiar characters such as The Grinch and others from the imaginative world of Dr Seuss.
A highlight of the celebration was a thoughtful contribution from one of our Pre-Primary parents, who kindly sent a Grinch-themed birthday cake for the children to enjoy. This generous gesture helped make the day even more memorable.
Experiences like these support our students in developing curiosity, creativity and a positive connection with books and storytelling. Celebrations of literature allow children to see themselves as readers, thinkers and communicators while sharing happy learning moments with their peers.
College
Grade 8 – 11 Camp at Wildside
The recent Grade 8 – 11 Camp at Wildside was far more than a break from routine. It was an opportunity for students to connect, reflect and grow beyond the classroom, aligning closely with our commitment to holistic development.
From the outset, students engaged in structured team-building activities that encouraged collaboration, communication and problem-solving.
Barriers were broken down quickly, with students forming connections across grades that will undoubtedly endure.
A highlight for many was time at the pool, where laughter and friendly competition were in abundance. These moments, while seemingly simple, played a significant role in strengthening camaraderie and creating lasting memories.
The predators walk was another standout experience. Students had the rare opportunity to observe white tigers, lions and other predators up close, sparking curiosity and meaningful discussions around conservation and respect for wildlife.
The camp also created space for personal reflection. Removed from their usual environment, students gained a deeper understanding of their own strengths, while staff were able to engage with students in a different context, nurturing stronger relationships built on mutual respect.
Overall, Wildside reinforced the importance of balance in education, where academic rigour is complemented by personal development. The bonds formed and lessons learned will continue to shape our students as they progress at CIB College.
CATS Theatrical Experience
A recent viewing of Cats offered a unique and thought-provoking theatrical experience, highlighting the bold creativity that defines this iconic production. Unlike traditional musicals, Cats presents a series of character-driven performances, with each “cat” taking to the stage to share their story through music and dance.
While the structure may feel unconventional at first, the production’s artistic expression soon becomes its standout strength. The energy and commitment of the performers are evident throughout, with dynamic choreography and memorable musical numbers that linger long after the final curtain.
The visual interpretation, particularly the digital cat costumes, adds another layer of intrigue. Although this styling may not appeal to everyone, it certainly contributes to the production’s distinctive and unforgettable aesthetic.
Overall, Cats remains a production that sparks conversation and divide’s opinion, an example of theatre that challenges expectations and celebrates individuality. It is especially recommended for those who appreciate imaginative storytelling and the vibrancy of musical performance, offering audiences at Bedfordview Campus inspiration through its creativity and originality.
