Pre-Primary
Meaningful Beginning to Our Pre-Primary Year
The start of the Pre-Primary school year has been a positive and joyful experience for our children, parents and staff. On the first day, the school was filled with excitement as children arrived proudly wearing their new school clothes and carrying their school bags. Many parents walked their children into the classrooms where they were warmly welcomed by staff and given the opportunity to connect with the teachers who will be guiding their children throughout the year. There was a wonderful sense of anticipation as children recognised familiar faces and began forming new friendships.
During the first few days of school, teachers focused on building strong relationships with the children and creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child feels seen, valued, and supported. Time was spent getting to know each child’s interests, strengths, and personality. Children were also given space to get to know their teachers and classmates at their own pace. This intentional focus on relationships reflects our IB philosophy and our belief that learning is strongest when children feel secure and confident.
Our Pre-Primary classrooms and outdoor areas were carefully prepared to reflect our Reggio-inspired approach, where the environment is viewed as an active part of the learning process. Children were invited to explore a range of open-ended and play-based experiences that encouraged curiosity and independence. These included water play, shopping and role-play opportunities, fantasy dress-up and the use of gym equipment to support physical development. Through these experiences, children engaged in meaningful play that promoted problem solving, collaboration, communication and creativity.
Teachers observed closely, listened attentively and engaged with children as learning unfolded naturally through play. These moments allow teachers to plan learning experiences that are responsive to children’s interests and aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme. Early experiences such as these support the development of confident students who are curious about the world around them and eager to explore new ideas.
It has been heartening to see how quickly the children have settled into their routines and learning spaces. Our Pre-Primary environment has already begun to come alive with energy, inquiry and a strong sense of belonging. We look forward to a year filled with meaningful learning experiences as we continue to nurture caring, capable and reflective students within our Pre-Primary community.

Grade 7 Counsellor Induction
Grade 7 students recently took part in the annual counsellor induction. The programme marked an important step as students prepared to serve as primary school leaders within the campus.
During the induction, pupils explored the responsibilities linked to the counsellor role. Focus areas included leadership, respect, service, communication, accountability. Emphasis was placed on positive behaviour, responsibility, consistency in daily conduct.
By undertaking this role, students committed themselves to being strong role models for younger pupils across primary school. Their actions are expected to reflect the values of the school community through kindness, integrity and teamwork.
The induction highlighted the importance of leading with purpose while supporting peers. Our school looks forward to the positive impact these Grade 7 counsellors will have within the school community.

GRADE 8 ORINETATION DAY
On 13 January 2026, Crawford International Bedfordview College proudly welcomed our newest Grade 8 students with an exciting and memorable Orientation Day. The morning was filled with energy, laughter and a strong sense of belonging as the Grade 8s began their journey into high school life.
To ensure every student felt supported from the start, the Grade 8 cohort was divided into smaller groups, each led by one or two enthusiastic Grade 12 mentors. These senior students guided the newcomers with confidence and warmth, helping them settle in and feel at ease. Each group created a unique team name and an energetic war-cry, which they proudly performed to showcase their team spirit and creativity.
One of the highlights of the day was an interactive scavenger hunt, designed to help students familiarise themselves with the College block, key venues, and the surrounding campus. The challenges were both fun and engaging — students had to shoot hoops, solve quizzes and complete a variety of tasks that encouraged teamwork, problem-solving and exploration.
The scavenger hunt was not only a great way to learn about their new environment, but also an opportunity to build friendships and develop confidence in a supportive atmosphere. The excitement and determination shown by the Grade 8s throughout the morning was truly inspiring.
After successfully completing all the activities, students were rewarded with a special welcome pack, marking the beginning of their Crawford journey. To end off the day on a high note, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved treat, helping themselves with some delicious Chip and Dip.
Orientation Day 2026 was a wonderful success, setting the tone for a year filled with growth, connection, and school spirit.
